Nightingale Jazz Band is a NYC-based group that embodies the golden age of jazz music and the American Songbook. Drawing from the immense history of jazz's past, the group harks back to the vibrancy and intimacy of speakeasies, old Hollywood scores, and classic jazz. The band started when vocalist Nora Ritchie met pianist Alex Clough and they struck up a musical friendship. Both interested in playing the great classic jazz tunes, the duo decided to make a band that brought vintage jazz into the present-day. The band plays frequently around the Northeast, appearing at several prestigious venues in and around the NYC area, including the recently re-opened Rainbow Room at the top of Rockefeller Center, Metropolitan Club, Lambs Club, and the Manderley Bar at the McKittrick Hotel. The band features Nora Ritchie on vocals, Alex Clough on piano, Daniel Foose on upright bass, and John Hubbell on drums.
