Nick Burst

Since moving to New York in 2012, saxophonist Nick Brust has established his voice on the saxophone with an adventurous harmonic imagination and incisive, soulful sound. Nick recently released an EP, 'Brooklyn Folk Songs’ (, with his newest group, the Nick Brust Quartet in January 2015. Nick also leads the Brust-Horowitz Quintet along with trumpet player Adam Horowitz (, a group that performs mostly Nick's original compositions regularly around NYC. Before moving to New York, Nick attended New England Conservatory in Boston on scholarship, where he studied with Jerry Bergonzi, Frank Carlberg, Ran Blake, John McNeil, Donny McCaslin, and Miguel Zenón. Prior to attending NEC, Nick attended the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Walt Weiskopf, Harold Danko, and Chien-Kwan Lin.
